dearest friends,
i am such a devoted person, i am in an internet cafe to post. well, actually, i was here to do other things, but i have 20 minutes before i run out of time, so why not post?!
prague was AMAZING. let me try to discuss it as well as i can.
Day 1
arrived in prague a little later than expected but that's a good thing since shelly was late getting to the airport. we found anna and lesley, and then embarked on our trip into the city. josh and i arrived in our hostel, which turned out to be a little scary. i figured we could still make do, even though it was dingy. after a small language barrier with a woman who did not know english, except how to ask me for my passport, i was a little scared of the hostel. i was terrified when i went to the bathroom, only to learn that toilet paper was not provided and there were no paper towels. luckily, shelly secured us a room in her housing thing, so that's were josh, lesley, anna, and i ended up.
Day 2
josh and i fled the hostel in the morning. the receptionist was not shocked when we asked to check out. we got on the trams, and about 2 stops before shelly's place, we got nailed by the tram police without our tickets. i honestly did not know where or how to buy these tickets. the guy didn't care. 500 crowns, but that's like $20. oh well. that was my first prague mistake. we checked into our new hostel, then went to prague castle. prague castle was very impressive and pretty. there were some sweet views up there of the rest of the city. i loved it. next was the charles bridge, where i rubbed the golden belly. that means i will come back to prague someday (or so i'm told. kelly may want to correct me on that one). we went to old town square, then got some dinner. after a shower and a pivo, we went to black light theater. that was prague mistake number 2. it was called "aspects of alice" and reminded me of a terrible, pretentious experimental film made by a parkie. the best part: the lesbian action. at some point there was a lot of nudity as an apple floated around the stage. i wonder what that was supposed to symbolize...
we then went to karma lounge, which was an awesome hookah bar. we followed that with M1. followed by stand food. followed by shelly forcing us to miss our night tram. followed by 30 minutes of waiting which involved talking about smegma and brazillian waxes. we got home at 5:30. the morning birds were chirping.
Day 2
we got some food then went to the hunger wall and walked around. during this time, shelly decided she really needed to pee. like, desperately. after an hour of this, she finally found a suitable place to pop a squat. "that was better than sex after wine!"
we followed shelly's epic urination with a delicious czech meal. it involved some amazing beer. it was spectacular. then we went to cafe louvre where i had 2 hot chocolates (shhhh...don't tell everyone what i pig i am). josh and i went out for a pivo afterwards. then it was bed time.
Day 3
josh and i went to jew town and saw the jewish museum. it's really a bunch of synagouges and a cemetary. the cemetary was so cool because they ran out of places to burry people. so they brought in more earth and added layers to it. there are 12,000 tombstones there, and more people than that are burried.
after that, josh and i went to old town and got a pivo. during this time, a thunderstorm occured. we were under an awning that was unable to hold the weight of the water, so the waiters had to come out with sticks and help the water run off the awning. at some point, a bunch of unsuspecting people got drenched. oops.
we then met up with shelly and went to vycherod castle. it was gorgeous. we enjoyed a meal in a cute hotel restaurant. then we went on a mini pub crawl, enjoying the prague night life for one last time.
Day 4
the depature. we said our goodbyes to shelly, our amazing prague guide. then josh and i headed out to the airport and a bad day began for me. i was a little sick that morning, and we got to the airport very early because our taxi driver picked us up about 45 minutes too early. so we just sat around and it was boring. i was unable to stomach food even though i was starving. we arrived in amsterdam (we had connecting flights) and i discovered that my conditioner bottle had leaked in my bag because the good people of czech airlines stuffed everyone's crap into the overhead bin. upon arriving in london, i realized that my papers from ithaca saying i'm studying here were in my flat, and not on me. the immigration officer gave me about 5 minutes of crap before letting me back into the country. i think we should note that my passport is stamped all over with admission into the UK. furthermore, i have a code 2 stamp (certifying i can work here), so i clearly am legit. some people just loooove their authority i guess.
after that stress i wrote a paper and passed out.
tomorrow...SCOTLAND!
